We recommend purchasing a plan based on your airline tickets to include your travel in transit to your destination. Comprehensive medical insurance will cover you during your travel once you leave your home country as long as you include those dates when purchasing a plan.

Exclusions on comprehensive visitors insurance plans do vary per plan and per insurance company. Most comprehensive visitors insurance plans will not cover pre-existing conditions, preventive care and/or routine care. There are some exceptions to this rule based on what plan you purchase and the length of your trip.
