There are many visitors insurance options available for visitors coming to the USA on visitors visas, H1B1/EAD visas, and greencard holders. If you have domestic health insurance, you will need to call your insurance company as most domestic plans will only cover you in your home country. Globally, you will have limited coverage or need to meet your out of network deductible and have limited coverage. Most domestic plans also don't have global PPO (preferred provider organization) networks which will require you to meet a higher deductible and you may not be 100% coverage as you would in-network. We recommend all travelers purchase a Visitors Insurance plan for coverage for any trip outside of your home country. When it comes to the best visitors insurance plans, we recommend our clients to choose a comprehensive coverage plan with a company and their claim offices based in the United States. There are cheaper options available from traveler’s home country, however, these plans are not comprehensive coverage plans and are reimbursement plans designed to only cover a portion of the bill.
